I wanted to let you know that following requests from several individuals and
parties, it has been decided to merge the meetings of the Press Officers and
Campaign Managers at the EGP Vienna Council (still on Saturday 13th
October from 10 am to 12.00) This is because the main topic will be
the 2009 common campaign . Of course if we press officers want to talk about
topics that are only of interest to us, then it will be no problem to extend
the meeting by an hour or so.
Please
let me know if you plan to attend, if possible by the end of next week (Friday
28th September). Please also fill in the attached registration form
and send it to ann.verheyen@europeangreens.org. Deadline for registration is
4th October.
I have attached the latest draft
programme for the council (this is still subject to some changes) and below
you will see the previous email I sent about our meeting.
I hope that as many of you as

As promised, I am emailing you all to remind you of the press officers’
meeting which will take place on Saturday 13th October from 10.00
to 12.00 during the EGP Council Meeting in Vienna. As I explained in a previous email,
the reason for holding this meeting on the Saturday morning rather than on the
Friday afternoon as originally planned is that on the Friday afternoon, from
14.30 to 17.00 , there will be a meeting of the Party Leaders . As the main
topic for this meeting will be the common european election campaign 2009 , it
would be great if as many press officers and campaign managers could also be
present .
At the moment, the main topics on
the agenda for our meeting on Saturday morning are likely to
be:
i)
Common campaign 2009 : issues
raised during Party Leaders meeting, ideas for campaign
etc
ii)
How to improve communication
between press officers(following on from previous meeting in Brussels)
Please let me know if there are
any other topics which you think we should discuss during this meeting.
As we discussed at our Brussels meeting, another reason that it is important
that as many press officers as possible attend the Council meeting is so that
they can do press work on behalf of their party leaders/delegates;contacting
correspondents based in Vienna and journalists back home.
Please let me know whether or not
you will be able to attend this meeting by emailing me as soon as possible.
If you are able to attend, you
should fill in the attached registration form and return it to
ann.verheyen@europeangreens.org . Please don’t forget to specify whether you
want to book accommodation through the EGP. Please register by September
12th if you want a hotel room booked.
